The Proposed Cyclamax Incinerator - Dunston

Dronfield Civic Society has raised concerns with Derbyshire County Council over plans to build a waste incinerator at the Sheepbridge Resource Park, Dunston.
Our main concerns are:
1. Health and safety issues concerning the control of emissions from the plant, particularly to the estimated 30,000 residents in the locality.
2. The location of the proposed plant - which would be located 2.4 miles from the town of Dronfield, and even closer proximity to Unstone and Unstone Green. The site will be only 0.6 miles from a proposed EcoDome leisure tourist attraction.
3. Increased vehicular access in and out of the plant with the prospect of further increased congestion at the southern end of the A61(Dronfield By-pass).
4. Potential danger to public health and the likely detrimental effect on property prices in the area.

The proposed incinerator will be sited here (Sheepbridge) - 2.4 miles from Dronfield
Our local MP - Natasha Engel, has raised a petition against the planned incinerator - click here to view Westminster proceedings or add your name to the petition here.
Many local people in Dronfield and the surrounding districts have raised objections to the siting of the incinerator.
Most concerns are based on the proximity of the incinerator (to be situated on land designated as "industrial") to 30,000 local residents and 19 schools and the possible risk to health from what appears to be unproven technology.
Latest news : Plans to build the waste incineration plant were REJECTED by Derbyshire County Council on October 19 2010
