Dronfield is one the largest towns in Derbyshire outside Derby with 25,000 inhabitants, with a further 25,000 living within 3 miles of Dronfield station.

By their campaigning for a better rail service for the town, FoDS helped bring about a significant change in rail services in December 2008.

With a minimum hourly service from Leeds-Sheffield and Nottingham-Chesterfield, Dronfield can now easily be reached from all areas of the UK.

Travel time from London, via Chesterfield is 2 hours and 5 minutes

Sheffield and Chesterfield journey times are around 10 minutes.

Dronfield Station is situated to the south of Dronfield Town Civic Centre.

The Northern Trains Nottingham - Leeds - Nottingham service stops at Dronfield every hour in each direction.

For services from the North, change at Sheffield. From the South, change at Chesterfield.
