20 MPH Zone and Road Safety
The centre of Dronfield and Conservation Area are protected by a 20mph speed zone.
We would like to see the zone extended and better controlled by the use of improved pedestrian crossing facilities andtraffic calming measures.
There are key areas which are dangerous for pedestrians, in particular crossing High Street to visit the Library or Dronfield Medical Centre and at the Lea Road / Church Street junction where many hundreds of schoolchildren attending Henry Fanshawe school cross everyday.
We are currently monitoring the following planning issues.
Other issues

Broken bottles and glass

New site for Aldi : Aldi are planning a supermarket development on Sheffield Road on the old Lucas Works site. We have written to Aldi, supporting their developmet but asking them to consider a number of issues which we believe are important for the town.
They have responded positively to all of the issues we have raised with them.
