The present system of recycling glass, plastic and other items in the Dronfield Sports Centre car park is poorly managed and has insufficient capacity for the town.
We believe that is not only an 'eyesore' in this central location, but a danger to users.
As our recent pictures show, broken glass (usually occuring when the bins are emptied), overflowing and filthy bins are just some of the problems that residents have to endure as they attempt to deposit their items to be recycled.
Members of Dronfield Civic Society have recently cleaned the recycling facilities and area in a bid to shame the district council into action.
The responsibility for the provision and management of the recycling facility lies with North East Derbyshire District Council.
Information on what can be recycled and locations of other facilities in the Dronfield area can be found on the NEDDC website
