As part of The Great British Spring Clean, Dronfield Civic Society organised a litter pick that took place on Sunday 7th April.
We were delighted to see so many people respond to our call for help - we were joined by more than 20 volunteers, including residents, members of the Civic Society, and Councillors Alex Dale and Angelique Foster. The area for the pick was the field below the Unstone-Dronfield lay-by, where we discovered a huge amount of litter had been left. Among some of the items that were bagged up included large quantities of fast food packaging, bottles, cans, part of a fireplace and even a toilet!
Our thanks must go to everyone who turned up - it's great to see that so many of you care about improving our local area. Clearly there's still work to be done to discourage littering and fly-tipping, but with your help we will get there.
Check out some of the photos below and see if you can spot yourself. Remember to also keep an eye on our website and Facebook page - we will organise future picks at problem sites, so we hope you will come and join us again soon. Further details will be posted at a later date.
